The laugh that we can never get tired of!!!

Lil Miss Gloria has found quite a few things that make her just giggle, or maybe he father has the same sense of humor. But this little activity center is just another one those things that can occupy her time....

On top of the laughs for some reason she starts dancing to this old 60's song surfing bird while daddy was watching an episode of Family Guy. She was a little camera shy but she eventually got it going.....

She loves her activity set, she is starting to get her eye/hand coordination together and picks it up pretty fast....

Well it's been a while but were back. A lot has happened since our last posting, we moved, got snowed in for a few days and this little holiday called Christmas came around.

Gloria was all smiles Christmas day as if she knew what was really going on. Especially the Lil pony that she got.

Well maybe not to comfortable with it yet.

Over the past few weeks she has been quite the chatter box which is I find hilarious because she has these tones that sounds like she has a lot on her mind.

Around this same time Lil lady bug caught a cold and she was to say the least Pissed!!!!!!!

The heater broke in our new home needless to say with temperatures in the teens and a few inches of snow...yes snow in the area.....

Christmas day was spent in the urgent care just for some medicine...

With some great penicillin Lil ladybug has come back with a vengeance,

Oh and by the way it's official she's a Trojan after she watched the New Years day game with her daddy...

Life at six weeks old

I See You!!!
Life at six weeks has started to get a little busy for Miss Gloria. She is starting to spend a lot more time awake (especially at night)...
She still hates bright lights as you can see by this picture Bernice took. But she will have staring contest that you will not win because you will have to blink. A very positive note is that she is very well behaved in public. Bernice on a few occasions has had to take Gloria to the bank for a few hours and she has been the perfect little angel. Maternity leave is coming to an end and it sucks for both of her Parents. Dad has already returned for work and I can't finish work fast enough to get home and see my ladies.
We are starting to get a feel for her telling us what position makes her more comfortable for instance there is the "Boppie"
Then there is the big blanket wrap on the couch,

And then her favorite the "Don't you dare think you can put me in a swing and think you can multitask" cradle!

Yes life at six weeks is heaven. We will have more soon as life is getting a little hectic for all of us in the house, but we promise to keep it up...

Grand Pa's Turn

The one and only Grandpa Walker comes to Palmdale to swoon Gloria!
Straight from the land of micro brewries and bratwurst Gloria's Grandpa Jim came to introduce himself to his third granddaughter.
We cannot get over how calm this gentle giant made her when she was in his arms(not a peep). Notice that he didn't even need the boppy for support. but what the kicker was when he sang his patented song "Signifying Monkey" which then prompted the rest of us in the room to break out in dance.

Even though the picture doesn't show it Gloria kept grinning.

These grandparents have magical powers ( not a peep when they are around but the minute they leave.....DRAMA)

Along with her grandfather's visit , her Auntie TT and Uncle JP visited with Gloria's (22) month old cousin Hana

.

It was so sweet watching Hana want to help out with gloria who knew she was so maternal

Yummy Yummy!!!

Nana came to town....

Well another exciting week in just her third week of existence. 1st Gloria's Nana came all the way from Atlanta to visit the little angel. More importantly she spoiled the parents by letting us get some sleep(As well cooking every night (-:). Gloria took to the swaddling in Nana's arms so much that i don't she is going to grow out of it (trust me i know from past experience).

Playtime was a must and Bernice was waiting her turn to be swaddled (jk).

While Nana was here she was able to meet more of Bernice's family. Bernice's Tia and cousin came to introduce themselves to the new addition to the family, as well as continue a tradition that all the women in their family participate in

EAR PIERCING!!!

She actually took it like a professional. Small cry and that was it.

Nana left back home to Atlanta but the turnstile of visitors to bond with the baby continued.

By the end of that week Bernice's co-worker Mayra took time out of her busy schedule to visit with her old friend and new one.

That was in the 7 o'clock hour, by eight Ken and Joanne Ray who are friends that we play softball with came by, and you think Nana spoils Gloria wait til she got a hold of Auntie Jo.

Joanne even came equipped with a kit that immortalizes the size of her daddy like feet. She has showered her with countless treasures and keep-sakes that we are so grateful to her and Ken.

The grand finale ended with the arrival of Great Tia Marleen and grand Tio Jorge.

Gloria was hypnotized by Marlene's leopard print. It's safe to assume that she should wear that everytime she wants to feed Gloria.

Home Sweet Home

Our first week at home has gone pretty well, Gloria is starting to stay awake a bit longer as well as eat alot more. Berenice is starting to worry if she can keep up....

And so the bonding begins.... She recognizes voices especially her mommy's which everyone around here knows it's that little girly i'm spoiled voice.

As much as this child sleeps one would think that you could get a lot of things done around the house.....WRONG

We are just as exhausted as she is... How can someone so small just drain the life out of two people....

The kids have been awsome with her especially Authur with the baby monitor.Bre'Ana doesn't want to put the baby down, and if she had her way the baby wouldn't touch the ground til she's four. Lots of people have been coming by( building our stable of babysitters)

For instance Asia has been here alot and the bond that they are building is very special.

I must say that the highlight of the week has been the baths, at first she complained like every child usually does;

But now she thinks it's her own personal jacuzzi and spa. She loves the way she feels after mommy gets her all clean with new clothes. Especially this baby perfume that someone gave her. She just lays there as cool as the other side of a pillow....

Princess Gloria has arrived...sooner than we expected...

Well....well....well.....

It's strange how life can just flip your daily schedual upside down. It was a typical Wednesday when Berenice had a doctors appointment in Panorama City for an ultrasound. Now usually I wouldn't think twice about it but I found it strange to have to go to an ultrasound in Panorama City instead of the usual office in Palmdale which is 3 minutes away(oh well i'm whipped I just rolled with it). In the doctors office he found it odd that the baby who is very healthy had pretty much no room in her mommy's tummy left to go another month since the due date was October 19th. Right then and there he got up turned on the light and looked at us to say we are having the baby today. We looked at eachother with a look on our face like "Okay" and just rolled with it. We were worried because we were not prepared with any of the baby's belongings clothes, blankets, and bottles because they were in storage boxes because we thought we were moving before she came.So we went to the maternity ward to check in and instead of stressing out about what to do we both made the otherone try to laugh harder with some of the best jokes we knew...mind you this was at 10:30am. So at 11:15am we were looking for new vices to ease the time. Making fun of nurses when they walked in worked for me (it kept them sharp). Fast foward to 6:15pm, the time had finally came were they wheeled lil mama into the operating room for the C-section. By the time they allowed me to come in, the doctors had berenice drugged up and ready to extract our precious little angel. Our dreams of her finally looking at her parents were about to become reality. Cut to 6:51pm the most joyful sound in the world came from across the room, the scream of a child in a cold room weighing 4lbs 13 ozs. We were so overjoyed, we wished we could spend more time with her then but the nurses wisked her away to the NICU to monitor her. The main concern at that point was making sure they put all of mommies parts back together. It would the take her about (2) days for her to really get up and walk around. So trips to the NICU were a great motivator for her to get back to walking.

Since the hospital had very open visiting hours, Berenice's family made the trip that evening to the hospital to visit the precious new member to the family.

Tia (Asia) and Tia (Chelli) who have been awsome in their supportive roles for Berenice and Gloria never cease to amaze us with their pursuant need to hold the baby, in fact Chelli hasn't stopped telling me how to change her or hold her head correctly (it's cool we still love her).

The next day a few of Berenice's BofA family showed up at the hospital to show their love. A few hours later Gloria's Great Auntie DeeDee and Exhaulted Uncle Charlie Seek came by for their introductions to the little angel. And then on top of that Grandmother Gloria and Tia's Asia and Chelli with Chelli's mother filled the tiny room and you would think there was a party going down. What was very cool was that Baby Gloria was discharged from the NICU in time for everyones arrival so she stayed in the room with us. By the way I am going to start a petition to ensure hospitals put in comfortable furniture for the spouses that have to spend the night there (I see a spa day for both us soon cuz my back hurts too).

As Saturday rolled around we were told by the medical staff that both Mommy and baby were going to be released from the hospital which we were glad about because between Gloria and the nurses taking vitals every 30 mins overnight we got absolutly no sleep.

BUT SHE DID!!!!!!!!!!!

Once she was wrapped up in the blanket that her Nana made her it's lights out. She can wrap herself up in a blanket and be gone but hands down right now Grandmother Gloria has the best wrap. It is as if shes wrapped up like a cigar.

Finally we make it home and the boys can't wait especially Aurthur. Why bother with a baby monitor when you have someone of Authur's likeness in the home.

I think were gonna be alright......more to come
