Well....well....well.....
It's strange how life can just flip your daily schedual upside down. It was a typical Wednesday when Berenice had a doctors appointment in Panorama City for an ultrasound. Now usually I wouldn't think twice about it but I found it strange to have to go to an ultrasound in Panorama City instead of the usual office in Palmdale which is 3 minutes away(oh well i'm whipped I just rolled with it). In the doctors office he found it odd that the baby who is very healthy had pretty much no room in her mommy's tummy left to go another month since the due date was October 19th. Right then and there he got up turned on the light and looked at us to say we are having the baby today. We looked at eachother with a look on our face like "Okay" and just rolled with it. We were worried because we were not prepared with any of the baby's belongings clothes, blankets, and bottles because they were in storage boxes because we thought we were moving before she came.So we went to the maternity ward to check in and instead of stressing out about what to do we both made the otherone try to laugh harder with some of the best jokes we knew...mind you this was at 10:30am. So at 11:15am we were looking for new vices to ease the time. Making fun of nurses when they walked in worked for me (it kept them sharp). Fast foward to 6:15pm, the time had finally came were they wheeled lil mama into the operating room for the C-section. By the time they allowed me to come in, the doctors had berenice drugged up and ready to extract our precious little angel. Our dreams of her finally looking at her parents were about to become reality. Cut to 6:51pm the most joyful sound in the world came from across the ro
om, the scream of a child in a cold room weighing 4lbs 13 ozs. We were so overjoyed, we wished we could spend more time with her then but the nurses wisked her away to the NICU to monitor her. The main concern at that point was making sure they put all of mommies parts back together. It would the take her about (2) days for her to really get up and walk around. So trips to the NICU were a great motivator for her to get back to walking.
Since the hospital had very open visiting hours, Berenice's family made the trip that evening to the hospital to visit the precious new member to the family.
Tia (Asia) and Tia (Chelli) who have been awsome in their supportive roles for Berenice and Gloria never cease to amaze us with their pursuant need to hold the baby, in fact Chelli hasn't stopped telling me how to change her or hold her head correctly (it's cool we still love her).
The next day a few of Berenice's BofA family showed up at the hospital to show their love. A few hours later Gloria's Great Auntie DeeDee
and Exhaulted Uncle Charlie Seek came by for their introductions to the little angel. And then on top of that Grandmother Gloria and Tia's Asia and Chelli with Chelli's mother filled the tiny room and you would think there was a party going down. What was very cool was that Baby Gloria was discharged from the NICU in time for everyones arrival so she stayed in the room with us. By the way I am going to start a petition to ensure hospitals put in comfortable furniture for the spouses that have to spend the night there (I see a spa day for both us soon cuz my back hurts too).
As Saturday rolled around we were told by the medical staff that both Mommy and baby were going to be released from the hospital which we were glad about because between Gloria and the nurses taking vitals every 30 mins overnight we got absolutly no sleep.
BUT SHE DID!!!!!!!!!!!Once she was wrapped up in the blanket that her Nana made her it's lights out. She can wrap herself up in a blanket and be gone but hands down right now Grandmother Gloria has the best wrap. It is as if shes wrapped up like a cigar.
Finally we make it home and the boys can't wait especially Aurthur. Why bother with a baby monitor when you have someone of Authur's likeness in the home.
I think were gonna be alright......more to come
